Field Mechanic
Job Description Overview:
Cardinal Aggregates is a family-owned company from Northwest Ohio that is looking to support its maintenance department with a high skilled and motivated Field Mechanic. This position is expected to maintain the upkeep and maintenance of all equipment. The Field Mechanic works closely with the maintenance manager and staff to ensure basic repairs are performed within our standards.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the maintenance department in the upkeep of a large fleet of equipment.
- Work closely with the maintenance manager and field staff to coordinate maintenance schedules and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Report and document maintenance activities, including issues encountered, repairs made, and parts used, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Lube and service all company owned or managed equipment. ( Yellow Iron, Dump Truck Fleet and Crusher Fleet including Generators)
- Ability to use OEM/aftermarket software to diagnose issues
- Prepare and sample fluids for testing
Maintenance Duties:
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on company vehicles and equipment, including but not limited to inspecting fluid levels, tire pressure, and brakes.
- Identify and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues to prevent potential breakdowns and ensure safety.
- Perform basic repairs such as replacing hoses, fuses, and windshield wipers as needed to maintain vehicles in top working order.
- Coordinate with management for more complex repairs or maintenance tasks, providing detailed repair recommendations.
Documentation:
- Utilize the E-360 software program to accurately document time spent on maintenance activities.
- Maintain comprehensive records of vehicle inspections, repairs, and general maintenance procedures for future reference and compliance purposes.
- Document work orders efficiently, ensuring clarity and accuracy in all communication channels.
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and obtain CDL class driver’s license
- Ability diagnose and solve problems
- Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Travel will be expected with overnight stays
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Physically able to lift and move heavy objects if required

Lead Driver

Cardinal Aggregates is a family-owned company from Northwest Ohio that is looking to expand into the Southern Michigan in the material supply trucking market; not only to have a local presence, but to support its current work load and beyond. Our end goal is to establish a small fleet of trucks for the future growth of our entire company. The Lead Driver position is responsible for team leadership, light maintenance, reporting of services needed, driving and documentation.

Responsibilities:
Team Leadership
- Work directly with Transportation Manager to adhere to company core values
- Supervise and provide guidance to a team of drivers
- Assist in delivery routes and schedules of drivers
- Provide feedback to management on drivers performance
- Assist in recruitment of drivers
Driving
- Possess a Class A driver’s license with doubles endorsement
- Safely operate company vehicles
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
- Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of material to designated locations
Light Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance checks on company vehicles, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure and brake inspections
- Identify and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues
- Complete basic repairs such as replacing bulbs, fuses and windshield wipers
- Coordinate with management for more complex repairs or maintenance task
Documentation
- Complete delivery logs and other required paperwork
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, repairs, and maintenance
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to manage a team effectively
- Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Physically able to lift and move heavy objects if required
